Wage inflation survey
The Malta Employers’ Association has proactively conducted a wage inflation survey among a wide cross-section of employers from all sectors of the economy and representing all sizes of companies.
Survey: Employment Of TCNs
The MEA carried out a survey amongst employers about the situation concerning the employment of Third Country Nationals, with companies reporting that unreasonable delays are having an impact on their operations.

Survey on Malta’s Greylisting
The MEA carried out a survey amongst employers to obtain an actual snapshot of employers’ perceptions about the greylisting to have a better idea of what we are facing.
Surveys related to COVID-19
The Malta Employers’ Association has carried out four surveys in 2020-2021, to analyse how the pandemic is affecting companies and employers in Malta. Information obtained from its members has helped MEA to lobby more effectively in social dialogue fora.

Survey IV: Business Performance after a year of COVID-19 (March 2021)
The latest report was issued March 2021 and it focused on:
- Comparing business performance during year 2020 and beginning of 2021
- Collecting information on redundancies and engagement of new employees
- Examining employers’ projections in the coming months
- Obtaining feedback about the effectiveness of existent financial schemes to business and to formulate proposals for 2021

Past surveys
The Malta Employers’ Association has issued a survey report on ‘Sick Leave in Malta’ to provide a picture on the utilisation of sick leave by employees. The survey obtained data from 351 respondents covering more than 400 companies in Malta, spread across different economic sectors. This survey was conducted before the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, therefore the results do not reflect sick leave patterns resulting from the pandemic, but rather during times considered as ‘normal’. The Malta Employers’ Association issued a report on Sick Leave. It is the result of a survey conducted by the MEA to identify the extent of sick leave in Malta. The survey was distributed among companies operating in different sectors in January 2005. Download the report.
