The Malta Employers’ Association is organising an Information Session on: The Proposed Equality Bills – Implications for Employers, on Friday, 17 February 2017 at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, Valletta.
Over the past year, the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties has issued draft legislation, namely The Equality Act and the Human Rights and Equality Commission Act, which has widened the scope of existent legislation to cover all spheres of life. MEA has been heavily involved in the debate about this legislation since numerous sections impact heavily on the obligations of employers. The Association has voiced strong objections to particular proposals which it deems to be not legally correct, draconian and impractical.
