Information Session: Employers' Obligations to protect data, 27 May 2010
An information session for employers about Data protection was organised by MEA on 27 May 2010. The main speakers at this session were Mr. David Cauchi and Mr. Ian Deguara from the Commission of Data Protection. Questions pertaining to the installation and usage of CCTV’s at the work place, monitoring of emails for personal use and usage of internet sites by employees, recorded phone calls as well as retention of employees’ medical records were answered.

ESF 4.86 'CB4MicBEs'
The MEA in partnership with the ETC, the Ministry of Finance, the Economy & Investment and RKW the German Centre for Productivity and Innovation, has been awarded funding under Cohesion Policy 2007 - 2013 (OP II - ESF) Structural Funds for a project entitled 'CB4MicBEs' Capacity Building for Equipping and Representing Micro Business Employers'.

The MEA held its Annual General Conference with the theme: "A Post Recession Scenario for Malta" on the 22nd May 2009 at the Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana. It focused on the current global economic climate and how Malta can use the crisis to hit the ground running once the world economy recovers.
